The two brick buildings on Avenida 5 de Outubro, by the lagoon, are Olhão's markets: fish in the west building, fruit and vegetables in the east. On Saturday mornings, small growers from Olhão and nearby towns set up an open-air market beside them.
On Mondays they are open, but it is a quiet day at the fish market: less fresh fish and many stalls closed. Some stalls only take cash. Fuseta and Moncarapacho also have municipal markets with the same hours.
